WESTERN MASS PIONEERS TO BE IN PALMER AUGUST 16-20
OLD MILL POND SCHOOL, PALMER HIGH SCHOOL TO HOST CAMP ACTION
The Palmer Youth Soccer Association will be welcoming back the Western Mass Pioneers for the second year in a row. The Pioneers Host a Camp Program enables local associations or teams to bring the Pioneers players and coaches to their respective hometown fields for a week of fun learning and training.
The Pioneers have been hosted over the years by East Longmeadow, Springfield, Westfield, Warren, Chicopee, Holyoke, West Springfield, Granby, Wilbraham, and Belchertown. Lusitano Stadium in Ludlow is the camp's home base.
With just a couple weeks to the Summer's first session at Lusitano Stadium, the Camp Staff has been nearly finalized. Once again headlining the coaches will be the Pioneers' Co-Captains Jay Willis and Federico Molinari. A veteran of six seasons with the team, Willis has just been appointed Head Soccer Coach at Worcester State College. Molinari, a native of Argentina and a Pioneers fan favorite, serves as Assistant Varsity Soccer Coach at East Longmeadow High School and is quite active with the Junior Pioneers U13 Boys and U11 Boys. Federico also is a clinician for the Junior Pioneers Developmental players.
Joining them on the field will be four of the top local rising stars in the game. Minnechaug Regional's high scoring forward Sarah Brochu will be attending Southern Connecticut this Fall. West Springfield native Chris Roswess, currently at UMASS, is spending his Summer with the Pioneers. Former Ludlow High girls standout Caitlin Alves is performing now for the University of Hartford. All-American Michael Jordan from Ludlow High has led the Lions to the last two State Championship games, winning in 2008.
Adding more experience to the camp sessions will be Pioneers Assistant Coaches Mario Monsalve and Greg Kolodziey.
Monsalve, a former Colombian professional goalie, is now lending his expertise to the Pioneers Men and Junior Pioneers. Kolodziey, Ludlow High School's Boys Varsity Soccer Coach, serves as the Camp Director and the team's GM.

July 12-16 Lusitano Stadium (ages 7-13)
July 26-30 Lusitano Stadium (ages 7-13)
August 9-13 Lusitano Stadium (High School Prep Week, ages 13-18)
August 16-20 Old Mill Pond School, Palmer (ages 7-13)
