As the Western Mass Pioneers continue to develop the 2012 team, two notable players return from the 2011 squad, Chris Roswess (University of Massachusetts/West Springfield High School) and Jayme Kapinos (Southern New Hampshire University/Ludlow High School).

Chris Roswess has been a part of the Pioneers for the last two seasons, playing at the outside half and the forward position. Since his freshman year, Chris has been a consistent starter for the UMass Minutemen. A 2007 graduate of West Springfield High School where he was a two-time All-New England selection and named the New England Division I MVP in 2007. Chris was named to the All-Western Mass Second-Team as a freshman, and the All-Massachusetts team as a sophomore. He attended Bridgton Academy in 2007-08 where he also played soccer. At West Springfield, Chris scored 67 goals and added 23 assists, and tallied 24 goals and 9 assists at Bridgton Academy.

Jayme Kapinos is another local talent from Ludlow, MA. Jayme had an accomplished playing career at Southern New Hampshire University, playing defense and starting every game with the exception of 2 games in his freshman year. In 2011 Jayme achieved the Northeast-10 First Team All-Conference selection, the Daktronics Second Team All-Region selection, and was selected to compete in the NEISL Senior All-Star Game.
